My Story

Some journeys are planned. Mine was not.

Before founding Alpha Health Alliance, my professional career was rooted in the construction industry. For years, I worked in leadership, operations, project management, and organizational development. My focus was on solving problems, building strong foundations, and helping projects succeed. While healthcare was never part of my original career path, the skills I developed during those years would eventually become instrumental in creating something far more personal.

Everything changed when I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a rare genetic condition.

Like many people facing a rare or chronic illness, I quickly discovered that receiving a diagnosis was only the beginning of the journey. While medical information existed, navigating the realities of life with a chronic condition was often far more complicated than expected. Questions outnumbered answers. Resources were difficult to find. Support systems were inconsistent. What should have been a clear path forward often felt confusing, overwhelming, and isolating.

As I searched for guidance, I found that many patients and families were experiencing the same challenges. Individuals were struggling to understand their conditions, navigate healthcare systems, access resources, manage insurance issues, and advocate for themselves. Caregivers often felt overwhelmed and unsupported. Too many people were facing life-changing health challenges without the information, tools, or community they needed.

Those experiences revealed a reality that could no longer be ignored.

The gaps I encountered were not isolated problems. They reflected broader challenges affecting patients and families across countless rare, chronic, and invisible illnesses. While there were organizations doing important work, many people still found themselves searching for practical support, understandable information, and someone willing to listen and help them navigate the journey ahead.

That realization became the foundation for Alpha Health Alliance.

In 2024, I founded Alpha Health Alliance with a simple but powerful mission: to help bridge the gaps between patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and communities through advocacy, education, collaboration, and support.

What began as a personal experience evolved into a commitment to helping others find the resources, knowledge, and encouragement that I often wished had been available during my own journey. The organization was built on the belief that every person deserves access to information, compassionate support, and opportunities to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Today, Alpha Health Alliance works to improve healthcare access, strengthen patient advocacy, expand educational resources, and foster partnerships that create meaningful impact within the communities we serve. Our focus extends beyond healthcare alone. We seek to empower individuals, support caregivers, promote understanding, and help build a system where people feel heard, respected, and valued.

In addition to leading Alpha Health Alliance, I am also an author and educator. Through books, workbooks, guides, and educational resources, I strive to transform lived experience into practical knowledge that can help others navigate difficult circumstances with greater confidence and understanding. Topics I write about include chronic illness, rare disease awareness, caregiver support, healthcare navigation, insurance appeals, resilience, and personal growth.

While my journey with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency helped inspire this work, Alpha Health Alliance exists for a much larger purpose. It exists for every individual searching for answers, every caregiver carrying unseen burdens, every patient who feels unheard, and every family trying to find their way through complex healthcare challenges.

My mission remains simple: to help ensure that no one has to navigate those challenges alone.

Along the way, I met countless individuals and families facing similar challenges—many searching for answers, resources, and someone who truly understood what they were going through.

That experience inspired me to create Alpha Health Alliance.

My vision has always been simple: to help ensure that no one has to face rare, chronic, or complex health challenges alone. Through advocacy, education, collaboration, and community support, we work to empower patients, strengthen caregivers, and create pathways to better health outcomes.
